How many female directors are there actually out there? You don't know many of them and they don't always get the recognition they deserve in the film world. Here you'll get to know six of them and their great successes.

Since the Oscars awarded their first golden statue in 1929, over 400 directors have been nominated. But only seven women have ever, in all that time, been recognized by the Academy with a nomination. But it gets even more shocking: of those seven women, only three have ever been awarded the Oscar for "Best Director." And no one can tell us that there were no other good female directors besides these.
